Terms and Privacy

Last updated: July 3, 2026

This is a first-pass working draft for StoryAuditStudio.com. It is practical boilerplate, not legal advice, and should be reviewed by a qualified attorney before publication or customer use.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing StoryAuditStudio.com, creating an account, uploading a manuscript, selecting a subscription tier, or using Story Audit Studio™, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, do not use the website or services.

These Terms apply to all visitors, account holders, subscribers, and users of Story Audit Studio™.

2. About Story Audit Studio™

Story Audit Studio™ provides manuscript diagnostic tools and structured review reports for authors and creative professionals. The service is designed to analyze uploaded manuscripts and related project details for review areas such as plot logic, continuity, pacing, timeline structure, character consistency, proofreading issues, motif drift, chapter structure, and source-similarity references where available.

Story Audit Studio™ is an analysis-only service. It does not write, rewrite, generate, replace, or revise your manuscript text.

3. Informational and Diagnostic Use Only

Reports, scores, notes, evidence excerpts, severity labels, confidence labels, and recommendations are provided for informational and diagnostic purposes only. They are intended to help you identify potential review areas and make your own creative or editorial decisions.

Story Audit Studio™ does not provide legal, financial, tax, investment, publishing, literary-agent, business, medical, mental-health, or other professional advice. You are responsible for deciding whether and how to use any report or recommendation.

4. No Guarantee of Outcomes

Story Audit Studio™ does not guarantee that any manuscript will be accepted, published, sold, represented, optioned, produced, improved, or commercially successful. We also do not guarantee that reports will identify every issue, error, inconsistency, similarity, or opportunity in a manuscript.

Built-in and assisted analysis may include incomplete, incorrect, or subjective results. Human review by the author, editor, or other qualified professional is required before making manuscript, publishing, or business decisions.

5. Accounts and Access

You may need an account to upload manuscripts, run analyses, view reports, export results, or manage subscription settings. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account.

We may suspend or terminate access if we believe an account is being misused, violates these Terms, creates security risk, or interferes with the operation of the service.

6. User-Submitted Content

You may submit manuscripts, titles, project names, genre details, character lists, location notes, motifs, review goals, and related creative materials. You represent that you own or control the necessary rights to submit this content, or that you have permission from the rights holder to use Story Audit Studio™ for analysis.

Do not upload content that you are not authorized to submit, content that violates another person's rights, or content that contains sensitive personal information unless it is necessary for your manuscript review and you are authorized to provide it.

7. Your Ownership

You keep ownership of your manuscripts and other creative materials. These Terms do not transfer copyright, intellectual property rights, or other ownership rights in your submitted content to Story Audit Studio™.

We do not claim authorship of your manuscript, and we do not claim any right to publish, sell, license, distribute, or create competing creative works from your manuscript content.

Story Audit Studio™'s reports, layouts, software, prompts, workflows, diagnostic categories, interfaces, trade names, logos, and service materials remain owned by Story Audit Studio™ or its licensors, except for your underlying submitted content.

8. Permission to Process Your Content

By uploading or submitting content, you grant Story Audit Studio™ a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide permission to store, parse, process, display, analyze, and create diagnostic reports from that content solely to provide, maintain, protect, improve, and support the service.

This permission is not a sale, assignment, copyright transfer, or general license to use your manuscript outside the service. It is limited to the technical and operational uses needed to run Story Audit Studio™ for you.

This permission includes generating excerpts, metrics, structured facts, report data, exports, and other diagnostic outputs based on the submitted material. The original manuscript file is intended to remain unchanged by the analysis workflow.

9. Confidentiality and Security Limitations

We understand that manuscripts and creative materials can be confidential. We treat manuscript content and manuscript-derived diagnostic data as confidential user content and aim to use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the stage and nature of the service.

Access to manuscript content is intended to be limited to the user who submitted it, authorized account access, trusted service providers operating the service, and Story Audit Studio™ personnel or contractors when access is needed for support, security, troubleshooting, legal compliance, or service operations.

No website, database, file storage system, software tool, or internet transmission is completely secure. You should not use Story Audit Studio™ as your only archive, backup, legal deposit, chain-of-title record, or confidentiality control. Keep your own copies and use independent confidentiality agreements where needed.

10. Privacy and Manuscript Data

We do not sell your personal information, account information, manuscripts, project details, reports, or manuscript-derived diagnostic data. We also do not sell, publish, license, or distribute your manuscript content as creative source material.

You keep ownership of your manuscripts and other creative materials, including your copyright and other intellectual property rights. By uploading a manuscript, you confirm that you own it, control the necessary rights, or are authorized by the owner or rights holder to submit it for analysis.

We collect and use account information, manuscript files, extracted manuscript text, project details, diagnostic reports, usage records, support messages, billing-related records where applicable, and technical logs only as needed to provide, secure, maintain, improve, and support Story Audit Studio™.

Manuscript files, extracted text, project details, evidence excerpts, structured facts, and reports may be stored so you can return to your workspace, view report history, export results, and avoid rerunning unchanged analyses.

We may use trusted service providers for hosting, database storage, email, authentication, payment processing, file parsing, analytics, security, support, or analysis infrastructure. These providers may process data only as needed to help operate the service and are not allowed by us to sell, publish, license, or distribute your manuscript content.

We may review account, manuscript, report, and technical information when needed to provide support, troubleshoot errors, investigate abuse or security issues, enforce these Terms, comply with legal obligations, or protect the service and its users.

11. Operational Diagnostics and Admin Tools

We may collect and review operational records related to account activity, uploads, parsing, analysis runs, report generation, errors, usage limits, billing status, support requests, and product security. These records may include account identifiers, manuscript identifiers, file metadata, processing status, timestamps, error messages, report types, usage counts, and related technical logs.

Operational diagnostics are used to provide, secure, troubleshoot, maintain, improve, and support Story Audit Studio™. They do not transfer ownership of your manuscript, and they do not give Story Audit Studio™ the right to publish, sell, license, distribute, or create competing creative works from your manuscript content.

Authorized administrators, personnel, contractors, or service providers may access operational records and limited manuscript-related information only when needed for support, troubleshooting, security, abuse prevention, legal compliance, service operations, or user-requested assistance.

12. Privacy Choices, Export, and Deletion

You may update account details and communication preferences where account controls are available. You may also export available account, manuscript, and report records through the account export feature when enabled.

You may delete manuscripts and reports through the available product controls. Manuscript deletion is intended to remove the uploaded file and related extracted manuscript facts from active use, while completed reports may be preserved or deleted according to the product flow shown at the time of deletion.

You may delete your account through the account controls when available. Account deletion is intended to remove your account and associated projects, manuscripts, facts, reports, and stored files from active systems, subject to backups, logs, legal obligations, payment records, fraud-prevention needs, and technically necessary retention.

If you need privacy help, access, correction, export, deletion, or a question about whether information is sold or shared, contact us using the contact information in these Terms.

13. Payments, Subscriptions, Refunds, and Cancellations

Story Audit Studio™ may offer free, trial, monthly, annual, or usage-based plans. Prices, features, upload limits, analysis limits, report types, and billing periods may vary by plan and may change over time.

If paid plans are enabled, payment terms will be shown at checkout or in your account area. Unless a separate refund policy says otherwise, fees are not guaranteed to be refundable after access, credits, uploads, analyses, or reports have been provided.

Specific payment processor terms, cancellation procedures, refund rules, renewal terms, and subscription details should be confirmed before publishing this page.

14. Acceptable Use

You agree not to misuse Story Audit Studio™, interfere with its operation, attempt unauthorized access, scrape or reverse engineer the service, bypass subscription limits, upload malware, overload the system, or use the service for unlawful, infringing, abusive, deceptive, or harmful activity.

You also agree not to use Story Audit Studio™ to process content in a way that violates another person's copyright, privacy, publicity, contractual, or other rights.

15. Third-Party Services and Links

Story Audit Studio™ may rely on third-party hosting providers, databases, authentication tools, payment processors, analytics tools, analysis providers, file-processing tools, or external links. Third-party services are governed by their own terms and policies.

We are not responsible for third-party websites, services, failures, delays, security incidents, data practices, or content.

16. Availability and Changes to the Service

Story Audit Studio™ may be updated, paused, limited, modified, or discontinued at any time. Features may be experimental, in development, or unavailable for maintenance, security, billing, provider, or operational reasons.

We do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or permanent access to the website, uploaded files, reports, exports, or account features.

17. Intellectual Property

The Story Audit Studio™ name, logo, website design, software, workflows, diagnostic framework, report format, copy, graphics, and service materials are protected by intellectual property and other laws.

You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, sell, sublicense, modify, or create derivative works from Story Audit Studio™ materials except as allowed by these Terms or with written permission.

18. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Story Audit Studio™ and its owners, operators, employees, contractors, service providers, and affiliates will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost opportunities, lost data, lost goodwill, publication decisions, creative decisions, business decisions, or reliance on reports.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, any total liability related to the website or services will be limited to the amount you paid to Story Audit Studio™ for the service giving rise to the claim during the three months before the claim arose, or 100 dollars if no amount was paid.

19. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Story Audit Studio™ and its owners, operators, employees, contractors, service providers, and affiliates from claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising from your submitted content, your use of the service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of another person's rights.

20. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we may revise the Last updated date above. Continued use of Story Audit Studio™ after changes become effective means you accept the updated Terms.

21. Governing Law

These Terms and any dispute arising from or relating to Story Audit Studio™ will be governed by the laws of the State of Texas and applicable United States federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.

Any lawsuit, claim, or court proceeding arising from or relating to these Terms or the service will be brought in a state or federal court located in Texas, unless applicable law requires a different venue or gives you rights that cannot be waived by contract.

Nothing in these Terms limits consumer privacy, data security, copyright, or other rights that apply under Texas law, United States federal law, or another law that cannot be waived by agreement.
